Bio
Karen brings over 30 years of fitness experience to her yoga studio. As a former dance and step- aerobics instructor, a sports enthusiast with gymnastics and college cheerleading in her background, she's worked-out and played hard and landed, inadvertently on a yoga mat.
Her teaching style is based upon the idea that challenging your body through various yoga sequences and core strengthening exercises, should to be balanced with the ease of steady, full deep-breathing patterns to allow your body to retain your work-out. Nothing "good" stays with your body in the state of stress. This balance, therefore, of challenge and ease, is what makes yoga, a "work-in." Yoga is a fitness regime that gives your body an opportunity to stimulate muscles by simultaneously stretching and strengthening them. You can achieve amazing toning benefits from creating these opposing forces within your body during a yoga practice. Breathing with ease, and holding the challenge, "records" the experience in your body. Karen teaches her clients to "wear" and "live" their yoga practices.
Karen is originally from the Chicago area where most of her family still lives, and owns and operates one of the few engineered infrared heated yoga studios in the nation. Blue Moon Yoga and Fitness, Inc. is located in sunny Ormond Beach, FL where she now resides.
